Keymint helps you research keywords by collecting the autocomplete suggestions that Google Search and Etsy show for a keyword and its variations. This policy explains what Keymint handles, where it goes and how you control it. In short: your research stays in your browser. Keymint has no servers, no accounts, no analytics and no advertising.
What Keymint handles
| Data | When | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Keywords you enter (your seed keywords and any words, modifiers or templates you add) | When you type them into Keymint | To build the search variations you ask for |
| Autocomplete suggestions returned by Google or Etsy for those variations | When you start a collection | To list, deduplicate, filter and export them for you |
| Suggestions visible in the Google or Etsy search box, and the keyword in that page's search box or address | Only when you open Keymint on a Google or Etsy page, or while you have turned on Live capture | To add the suggestions you are looking at to your research, and to pre-fill your seed keyword |
| Keyword lists you import from CSV or TXT files | When you choose a file | To merge them with your research |
| Your settings (language, country, delays, methods, export columns) | When you change them | To remember your preferences |
Google may personalise suggestions, so suggestions captured from the page can include searches you made before. They are treated like any other suggestion: kept on your device and shown in your results, where you can delete them.
On google.com and etsy.com pages, Keymint's page script watches only the search box and its suggestion list. What it sees stays in that tab's memory and is discarded when the tab closes, unless you add it to your research or have Live capture turned on. When you open the Keymint popup, it checks the current page's address to tell whether you are on Google or Etsy; the address is not stored.
Keymint does not read your browsing history, other websites, cookies, passwords or form data. It does not record keystrokes, clicks or which pages you visit.
Where your data is stored
Everything is stored locally in your Chrome profile, using the extension's own storage on your device. It is not synced to other devices and is never sent to Dropwebs. Exports are files you save yourself.
What is sent over the network, and to whom
Keymint only connects to the internet to fetch suggestions, and only when you start a collection or run the connection test in Settings:
- Google: each search variation (for example “psl a”), with the language and country you chose in Settings, is sent to Google's suggestion service (
suggestqueries.google.com), without your Google cookies. Google's handling is governed by the Google Privacy Policy. - Etsy: each search variation is sent to Etsy from inside an etsy.com tab open in your browser, the same way a search you type there would be. Etsy's handling is governed by the Etsy Privacy Policy.
This transfer is required for Keymint's single purpose and is the only one. Keymint does not use analytics, crash reporting, advertising or any other third-party service.
Retention and deletion
Your research stays on your device until you delete it. You can:
- delete individual keywords, clear a research session, or delete sessions from History;
- turn off Save research sessions on this device in Settings, so nothing is kept after you close the workspace;
- turn off Live capture at any time from the Keymint popup (the toolbar icon shows “LIVE” while it is on);
- remove everything with Settings → Delete all Keymint data, or by uninstalling the extension.
